The
implication for a clinic is subtle but profound. A physician can now
grab a tablet PC with one hand and carry it from room to room, just like a
paper chart or tablet, while maintaining live and secure connection to the
computer network. Since Jogger Clinic’s
interface was specifically designed for touch input, Tablet PCs are a
perfectly matching hardware platform.
At
the minimum, a clinic can fully implement and operate the Jogger system
with one desktop PC for the nurse or staff and one Tablet PC for the
doctor. An extra overhead hallway display would make the whole setup
“beautiful.”
If
the clinic is considering an EMR system, then the Tablet PC would again
work beautifully for the clinicians. Physicians can take home all
the charts for the day and cross-check between Jogger and EMR for missed
appointments or ordered services.
It’s
convenient, it’s secure, and it is the way of the modern physicians.
